Who we are:  T.A.F.L. is a non-profit full pad tackle football and cheerleading league open to all youths ages 7-13.  Our program offers each community up 3 divisions.  They are defined as Freshman, JV and Varsity in six defined communities.  We also offer a cheerleading program in each participating community. T.A.F.L. is a proud member of the Amateur Athletic Union (A.A.U).

Purpose & Intent:  The purpose of this organization shall be to provide and promote, through properly qualified guidance and supervision, clean and wholesome youth football and cheerleading programs in the greater thumb area of Michigan.  Our aim is not to compete with the local school districts, but to complement them.  It is the intent of this league to teach basic skills of football and cheerleading.   We teach proper conduct and sportsmanship to positively affect the development of our children.

History:  T.A.F.L. began in 2003 at the Birchwood Sports Dome in Port Huron.  There were two seasons each having 8 games.  The first season saw 2 teams in both age divisions (7-8-9, 10-11-12), and the second season had 4 teams in both age divisions.  With the closing of the Sports Dome, a new non-profit T.A.F.L. was started in 2004 to then create 8 regular games and 2 play-off games while playing outdoors.  We began that season with 125 participants on 8 teams in 2 age divisions.  In the 2010 season we had 999 participants, on 40 teams, in 3 age divisions and 6 defined communities. Included in those numbers are 125 plus cheerleaders.

Vision:  It is the vision and goal of T.A.F.L. to grow and organize a league of 1000+ participants.  Games will be played on a number of different fields at participating communities.  Potentially, teams will be split into regions with the various regional winners playing in an ultimate league championship.
